Water Proofing Technician

Role Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled Waterproofing Technician responsible for the application, maintenance, and repair of waterproofing systems to protect buildings and structures from water penetration and moisture damage. The technician will ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications and quality standards.

To install and maintain waterproofing systems that prevent water leakage, extend the lifespan of structures, and ensure compliance with quality and safety requirements.

Key Task and Responsibilities:

 •Apply waterproofing membranes, coatings, sealants, and related materials on roofs, basements, foundations, wet areas, and other building structures.
•Prepare surfaces by cleaning, repairing, leveling, and priming before waterproofing application.
•Inspect structures for water leakage, cracks, and moisture-related defects.
•Carry out repair and maintenance of existing waterproofing systems.
•Perform leak testing and quality inspections after application.
•Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and method statements.
•Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
•Follow project schedules and complete tasks within specified timelines.
•Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
•Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good condition.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

 •Minimum 2-5 years of experience in waterproofing works within construction, facilities management, or maintenance projects.
•Experience in applying bituminous membranes, liquid-applied membranes, polyurethane coatings, cementitious waterproofing, and sealants.
•Knowledge of leak detection and waterproofing repair techniques.
•Gulf/UAE experience is an advantage.
•Good understanding of waterproofing materials and application methods.
•Ability to identify water ingress issues and recommend solutions.
•Knowledge of surface preparation techniques.
•Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
•Familiarity with construction safety practices and PPE requirements.
•Good teamwork and communication skills.
•Ability to work at heights and in outdoor environments.
