Senior Painter

Role Purpose:

The Senior Painter is responsible for carrying out painting, finishing, and surface preparation works within the facility. The role ensures that all painting activities are performed to high-quality standards while maintaining safety, durability, and aesthetic appearance of surfaces and structures.

Key Task and Responsibilities:

• Perform painting works for walls, ceilings, doors, furniture, metal, and wooden surfaces.
• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primers.
• Mix and apply paints, varnishes, stains, and coatings using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Carry out touch-up and repainting works as part of preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Identify and repair minor surface defects such as cracks, holes, or peeling paint before painting.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of paints, chemicals, and materials.
• Follow health and safety procedures and use appropriate PPE during painting activities.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality and finishing standards are met.
• Guide and support junior painters or helpers when required.
• Report maintenance requirements, material shortages, or safety issues to the supervisor.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• Minimum 4–6 years of experience in painting and surface finishing works, preferably in facilities management or construction.
• Knowledge of different paint types, coatings, and finishing techniques.
• Experience in surface preparation and repair works.
• Familiarity with painting tools, equipment, and safety practices.
• Ability to work at heights when required.
