Technician - Appliances

Role Purpose:

The Technician – Appliances is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various electrical and mechanical appliances within the facility. The role ensures that appliances and equipment operate efficiently, safely, and in accordance with maintenance standards and operational requirements.

Key Task and Responsibilities:

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical and mechanical appliances such as kitchen equipment, washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, and other facility appliances.
• Diagnose faults and carry out troubleshooting and repairs to restore equipment functionality.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of appliances and related equipment.
• Replace defective components such as motors, switches, thermostats, wiring, and control parts.
• Ensure appliances are operating safely and efficiently according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain records of maintenance work, repairs, and parts replacement.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures during maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other technical teams to resolve equipment issues.
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
• Report major faults, spare parts requirements, or safety concerns to the supervisor.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in appliance repair or maintenance, preferably in facilities management, hospitality, or building maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical appliance systems.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and basic wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and troubleshooting techniques.
• Technical diploma or certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Appliance Repair preferred.
